Don’t let the name deceive you. This is a good old survivor story about a kid named Brian who has to make it in the wilderness with his hatchet after his plane crashes and both the pilot and copilot die. What happens next? Read the book to find out. It's a good book for outdoorsy kids. I liked this book because it was very descriptive and well written. I rate it 4 out of 5 stars

Hatchet is an adventure and a suspense book all jumbled up in a good book. It all started when Brian goes to visit his dad for the summer, but in order to get there he has to fly there. He meets the pilot and become friends. Before brian leaves his mom gives him a Hatchet . The plane crashes and Biran has to survive with his hatchet and by his self.The pilot sadly does not make alive Brain survive off a hatchet and a first Aid kit from the plane. Will he make it out alive. Read and you will find out what will happen to Brian.. This wonderful book was written by Gary Paulsen. I would give this book 3 ½ star rating. I would recommend this book to my sister she loves to have adventures i bet she would like this book .
