Harris and Me by Gary Paulsen

Harris and Me
Harris and Me is a book about a young city boy whose parents aren’t quite fit to be raising him so he gets sent off to live on his aunt and uncle’s farm. His cousin, Harris is about the same age as him and his other cousin, Glennis, who is a little older live on the farm, too. He and Harris do many fun, adventurous activities that you can imagine any young farm boys would do. Read the book to find out all of the fun adventures these two wild boys experience and learn what happens in the rest of the story that could be a shock or something you expected because you never with them.
I would give this book four out of five possible stars because, while it wasn’t the best book out there that I have ever read and some of the parts were too gross for me, it did meet most of my expectations and was told well by the author. I would recommend this book to anybody that likes adventurous stories about children. I rated it 4 out of 5 stars.

Shadow by Michael Morpurgo

4.22 of 5 stars 4.22 avg on goodreads.com

ShadowShadow is a book about an Afghan boy, Aman, and his mother.  His father was killed by the Taliban so they escape to the safety of England.  During their escape they meet a former military dog, who they name Shadow, and helps lead them out of danger.  At the border of each country Aman and his mother are forced into prison because they have no papers.  The book takes you through the journey of Aman and Shadow, and the people that try to help Aman have a better life in England. I really loved this book because the characters made me want to read more.  There are some very emotional parts of the book that made you understand what Aman and his mother are going through.  People will like this book because it helps you to understand what is happening in this part of the world right now.

This story is about a boy that plays baseball.  He gets recruited to play on a little league World Series team. He gets to do it with his friend Benji.  But he is also going through some rough things like his parents are getting divorced.  Read the book to find out more.
Your opinion of the book and why:
I think this book was good because there were a lot of back and forth emotions.  Like at one part he having lots of fun playing baseball.  Then when he gets home its rough because his parents fight and are getting divorced.

Powerless by Matthew Cody

Powerless3.89 of 5 stars 3.89 avg rating on goodreads.com

In the book powerless there is a boy named Daniel Corrigan.  He has just moved into a new neighborhood.  Daniel moved to a very unusual town called “Noble’s Green, the safest town on earth.  Nobles Green is called this because the town is filled with supers.  Here is what they can do 2 of them can fly, 1 can turn invisible, 1 is stronger than a full grown man and 1 can smell things and see things half way across the earth. My opinion is this book is very good and has lots of action. I recommend this book to many people who love action!

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1)4.14 of 5 stars 4.14 avg rating on goodreads.com

When 15 year old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in NYC, something happens. Three teenagers with odd black marks on their skin; murder someone. When shiny, gold haired Jace stabs the boy, pitch black goo comes out of his chest. Clary is attacked later on and wonders; why her? Clary and the Shadowhunters are trying to figure out.  I liked the book because it is full of action and adventure. What I really like is that the author really describes what is happening.
