This book will pull you in and spit you back out again with a whole new perspective of life itself. Saba’s twin brother Lugh is abducted by four mysterious riders, who arrive in a cloud of red dust sporting ropes and guns. Saba is determined to find and rescue Lugh, but first she must drop her scrawny sister, Emmi, off with Mercy, who is a family friend living in the lush green forests of Cross Creek. As a parting gift, Mercy presents Saba with a heartstone, which burns red hot when you get close to your heart’s desire. Saba leaves her sister behind and, sets off alone, on a perilous journey after her brother, with only her trained pet crow, Nero, and the heartstone to guide her to her brother. Her fierce determination drives Saba across the dreadful Sand Sea desert. It was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! I could not put this book down.
